ATFC’s history stems back 21 years when the club was established under the name of PSC Navarino Gunners and competed in its inaugural season in 2004 in the SAASL Sunday Division 6 competition.
A move in 2005 to the SAASL Saturday competitions, coupled with a name change to the Adelaide Gryphons, was met with a reasonable period of success for the club. This included a Division 2 reserves team championship in 2005. In 2006, the senior team finishing runner up to secure promotion to the SASSL Saturday Premier Division for the first time in the club’s history and in only its second year in existence.
Following relegation in 2008 from the top-flight and reverting back to the Navarino name, our club was able to consolidate its position in the SAASL Saturday Division 2.
In 2011, with our focus on establishing a community club that respects our Greek heritage but is truly inclusive of our wider community, ATFC was born. The ensuing seven (7) years saw the club reinvent itself and subsequently experienced a significant expansion and growth.
In 2018, ATFC appointed former Socceroo and 300-game National Soccer League legend Branko Milosevic as its senior coach. An influx of players were attracted to the cub, including club captain Mark Perrone a former SASI and Joeys representative player. The club won the SAASL Division 2 Championship in 2018 thereby gaining promotion back to the SAASL Premier Division where it has since cemented its position.
Over the past six (6) years, the club has enjoyed a period of success and recognition for its drive to be a leading amateur football club. This includes reaching the semi-final and quarter-final of the SAASL Challenge Cup in 2019 and 2023 respectively and finishing League Champions runner-up in 2021 and 2023.
In 2021, the club was able to secure its own home ground facilities for the first time in its history – Matheson Reserve, Findon fondly referred to as Titan Park. This has enabled the club to truly focus on its continued growth and expansion with its very own home ground facilities. This has in no small part allowed ATFC to attract some truly talented players in recent years including well known National Premier League and State League 1 players.
The success of the Titans continues on with the club establishing, in 2024 and for the first time in its history, a junior football program with almost 30 kids participating in our Development Squad (3 to 5 years of age) as well as MiniRoos teams which compete in the FSA MiniRoos Competition.
Our Passion Pride Success culture of our club has been firmly planted and the Titans will always strive to achieve great things as a true community football club.
